- The PowerTerm WebConnect Agent client is a new client-side component of the PowerTerm WebConnect product. Accessible from the system tray, it provides direct automatic download and activation of any client-side component.
- The Agent client downloads the various components only when they are required, thus expediting the initial software installation.
- During component download the Agent client presents the user with a progress bar to indicate the download state.
Support
- Activate administration assistance directly from the Agent client. This allows PowerTerm WebConnect to be used as a support aid utility independent of its emulation capabilities.
- More detailed server and start logs, containing additional CPU, performance, and application statistics.
- Messaging service supports sending a screen shot of the client's screen.
- Automatically generate an email containing all the material required by Ericom's Support, including: TCP/IP captures, context files, settings files, and screen captures (bitmap).

PowerTerm WebConnect 4.21 (Released September 2002):
New Features
- The PowerTerm WebConnect LPD Client - new client type
This client implements the most important features of the Line Printer Daemon, as
specified in the LPD/LPR protocol.
The client is supplied as a standalone activex (having its own CAB and HTML
files) and also as a tool of the PowerTerm WebConnect ActiveX (like the FTP
client).
The LPD client can either use the PowerTerm WebConnect Server as a gateway or be accessed
directly by the LPR.
The configuration is stored on the server side, while the jobs are managed on the
client side.
- The PowerTerm WebConnect VNC Client - new client type
The PowerTerm WebConnect VNC client is primarily used by either the Tech Support team or the
administrator for attaching to another machine's desktop.
The ActiveX, OCX and LPD sessions may request assistance either from technical support
or the administrators. This assistance is provided using the PowerTerm WebConnect VNC clients.
The administrator may takeover a VNC attached session of the PowerTerm WebConnect Server's machine or
of an active session's machine. This is made possible using the administration tool.
- Reconnect
The reconnect feature enables automatic reconnecting to a session that has undergone unintentional communication interruptions, thus preventing loss of session's information.
- PowerPad & Function buttons support both ActiveX and JAVA clients
The PowerPad & Function buttons can be defined at two levels: at the server's general
level and at the connection level. The Administration Tool provides full user interface
in order to customize them.
- >"Encrypted" PSL commands in Keyboard Mapping, Power Pad & Function buttons
For those PSL commands that are "confidential", the user interface will
show asterisks instead of the PSL command when accessed by those not
authorized to view it.
- Dynamic values support for the following connection, communication and
setup attributes:
Host Name
Message Queue
Message Library
Node Name
Password
Server Backup
Server Name
Service Name
Terminal ID/Model/Name
User Name
Answerback Message

- The commands "pad" and "func" were extended. The following arguments were
added: clean, hold and restore.
- The new command "w2h-set-messaging-single-recipient".
After applied to a client, the messaging capability will be limited to send
message to only one target a time.
- The new command "use-print-default".
Sets the Windows default printer into File | Print Setup | Printer Name field.
- "set" command extended:
show-toolbar |
[on|off] |
|
the opposite of "hide-toolbar" |

- New logical folders
* <setup>
This logical folder is translated to:
* <user> when the private folder is enabled by calling one of the
following PSL commands: w2h-use-private-setup-folder or
w2h-use-private-folder.

one of the following PSL commands: w2h-set-default-setup-folder
or w2h-set-default-folder.
* <downloads>
This logical folder is translated to PowerTerm WebConnect...\bin\Downloads.
The Administration Tool and LPD Client.
Most of the report list views allow column customization.
- A right-click on the report list header toggles the width of the column from the optimal width to the minimal width.
- A right-click on the report list itself displays a context menu containing the following column management options:
- Predefined subsets of columns (available on most of these report lists).
